Solar Plexus
Solar Plexus (2014) is my piece for clarinet and piano, initially inspired by the piano figure of another composer I admire. From the spiraling opening figure the piece takes off, crashing into some harmonically adventurous places. I attempted to capture a sense of elegance while maintaining a feeling of freedom and improvisation.
